Understanding SRC Results
As the Science Review Committee (SRC) evaluates projects, here's how to read each status in the online registration dashboard and what to do next.
Status Indicators
Awaiting Verification
One or more supervising adults haven't confirmed their role. Check email (including spam) for messages from noreply@lascifair.org. If links have expired or weren't received, contact president@lascifair.org.
Awaiting Level 1 Review
All verifications are complete. Your project is in the queue for the first SRC reviewer.
Level 1 Recommended Revision
The first reviewer flagged concerns. The project automatically advances to a second reviewer — no action needed yet.
Level 1 Recommended Acceptance
The first reviewer approved. The project advances to a second reviewer for confirmation.
Awaiting Level 2 Review
Your project is pending assessment from the second reviewer.
Needs Revision
The second reviewer rejected the proposal. You have one opportunity to address all comments from both reviewers and resubmit before the deadline. Experimentation cannot begin without approval.
Accepted
Your proposal has been approved. You may now commence experimentation.
Awaiting Level 3 Review
The second reviewer requested a third-party evaluation. That reviewer's decision is final.
Resubmission & Post-Approval Changes
After approval, editing is disabled. If you need to make changes to an approved project, email pre-approval@lascifair.org with a full explanation.
Resubmitted projects follow the same review procedure. Approval allows experimentation to proceed.
